Hello there

I have a problem that I hope someone in this forum can help me with.

I am using the newest MobiFlight ver. 9.1.0 and newest FSUIPC ver. 7.2.13
My problem is that MobiFlight does'nt seem to recognize the FSUIPS.

When running both MobiFlight and the FSUIPC the Modules status in MobiFlight is green check
The Sim Status for the "WASM module" and the "MSFS2020 detected" is also check green. But status for FSUIPC is check faulty with a yellow triangle.

By the way, I am using the Arduino Pro Micro.

Why is that and what to do?

Kind regards

Morten

Hi Morten,

welcome to MobiFlight!

With the FS2020 you do not need FSUIPC anymore. Here you can all manage via the WASM module. How it works you can read at https://github.com/MobiFlight/MobiFlight-Connector/wiki

Hi Stephan

Thanks for your welcome and your feedback, which I found interesting.

My first setup was a switch for turning on/off the landing light with a control LED. This didnt work
I set it up with in the MobiFlight using the FSUIPC module because I was told the FSUIPC is the only module that can handle output. Can this be done differently?

Then I changed my setup using the SimConnect module instead. Then the switch worked, but the control LED did not.
What is the solution when I want to have feedback from the Sim?

The LED do light up when testing in MobiFlight.

And still I am curious to why the FSUIPC doesnt connect to MobiFlight? It should right?

Hope you can help.

Kind regards

Hi

Badly i can not tell you why your FSUIPC is not connected. May you try a Reinstall of FSUIPC. Normally we have no negative feedback and FSUIPC is working for lots of People in FS2020 without Problems.

About the other Question:

FSUIPC "was" the only way to comunicate with the Sim prior FS2020..... In FSX, P3D we 100% work with FSUIPC ( For Input and Output) ... For sure Inputs could be done also via Keypress and Joystickbutton simulation.... Thats why you hear the rule "Outputs only possible via FSUIPC" .

BUT!!!!

This is no longer true in case of FS2020 and the WASM Module and "Simconnect" . (Still True for P3D and FSx for sure)

NOW (In FS2020) we be able to talk to the Sim directly.... Means FSUIPC is no longer needed.
To be truly.... At the moment lots of things are working, but some kinds of Variables are not readable/writeable. We looking forward to get access by Asobo in the Future. But in case FSUIPC work same way like Mobiflight you pretty sure also not get access to that variables via FSUIPC at the moment !

About the Problem:
If your INPUT work then all looks good.
To light your LED create a Output Config.... Choose as Typ " FS2020 Variable" and check the dropdown to find the right Output Variable for the Function and Aircraft you like to use.
Try something Basic for testing. Not everything is still in the Lists.... But can be explored by using the DEV Mode in the Sim to check the needed Variables out!
Good Luck !

Superb

I will look into that.

When reinstalling the FSUIPC should the MobiFlight be open or closed or does that not matter?

Kind regards

It make no sense to have Mobiflight "open" while you reinstall FSUIPC and the Sim definitly not runing that moment.

1. Installl FSUIPC
2. Start the Sim
3. Start MF
Good Luck !

Thanks :)

When installing the FSUIPC7 exclusive for MSFS2020, the installment adds a FSUIPC7 MSFS shortcut to the desktop.
I then have to use this shortcut to boot the FSUIPC and start the simulator, right?

if not doing so, and just starting the simulator as normal, the FSUIPC will remain "dead", right?

Thats logical !

You see if FSUIPC run, by a Additional Tab/entry in the main bar of the sim, and by the FSUIPC Logo while start the sim !
Good Luck !

Hello again.

When starting the sim by the FSUIPC7 shortcut the sim starts and run. During the boot there is NO FSUIPC logo.
Why that is can have something to do with error when installing the FSUIPC. The MobiFlight still not regongnize the FSUIPS.

Dont have a clue.why thats is. I download the package, unzip an install. What the heck am I doing wrong :-)

Hi Morten....

I not understand your problem.....
If you have a ERROR while installing FSUIPC then its logical it can not work.

Sorry we can not help in that case.... If you have a Problem with FSUIPC itself, then you need to contact the support of FSUIPC.... Not here the support for Mobiflight !

Just some ideas to help you....

1. Get sure you install the correct and newest FSUIPC Version.
2. Get sure you install it in the correct place.... E.g. if you have 2 times installed FS2020 by fault maybe FSUIPC is used in the wrong installation folder.
3. Install FSUIPC with Admin Rights! ..... If Sim is in a protected folder maybe the FSUIPC installation can NOT be done without Admin Permission.

And finally.... Like said at beginning.... Not care about FSUIPC! Mobiflight can handle the same Elements itself without FSUIPC in FS2020 !
Good Luck !

Thanks for the input.

Just to be clear; There occur no errors when installlng the FSUIPC.
The problem is after the installment of the FSUIPC due to the FSUPCI does not "connect" with the MobiFlight and further more no logo occurs during booting the sim.

Are there the samme amount of action/events using Simconnect as with the FSUIPC?

Kind regards and many thanks

Techical Yes..... FSUIPC basically use the same source of data. So our WASM System can also work with that data.
We not "sort" them into Offset Adresses..... We use the raw Data from Simconnect. But Yes. It´s technical the same !

About the starting.

For me ( newest FSUIPC and newest FS2020 Version) the FSUIPC Logo comes up after the main loading screen ( behind the Pelatus Porter Picture) as a little 2-4 Second Picture.

You can additional confirm FSUIPC is running by check the "Open Task" bar in Windows10 next to the Clock in lower right side of the main screen.
If FSUIPC is active there is a symbol there ( like a programm that is minimized).
Same symbol like the FS2020 with FSUIPC Shortcut.
Click on it.... then you see the status ( like connected ).
Good Luck !
