Good evening

New on here and have a question regarding MobiFlight and my setup.

I currently run the PMDG 737 NGX with AirManager + a Knobster with touchscreen panels. I bought the NGXu back in 2019 thinking it would be a seamless transition but I have not been able to use it with my AirManager setup as a few things changed within the NGXu data so the AirManager PMDG plugin does not work.

I have reached out to the fine people at Siminnovations but they don't have time to update the plugin as they are understandably busy with MSFS2020 and Xplane.

Is there any way that MobiFlight could be used in-between Airmanager and the NGXu to relink things or any other solution?

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

If you have change from NGX to NGXu did you also activear the data transfer from your plane?
Look into your [planename}_options.ini in your PMDG folder? And is there the section [SDK]
EnableDataBroadcast=1 ?

This is often forgotten...

I don´t think this is a MF Related Thing.... and i also see no way here.

Mobiflight itself not "output" data to other things..... It just send Data to the SIM ( Input) and send data to its own Devices ( like LED).

Airmanager use a own logic and comunication devices ( not sure if it work via simconnect or FSUIPC but i think the first)
So whatever we will.... MF can not change tha raw data ( that is read by Airmanager).

Whatever..... Lets talk about details.
WHAT exactly is not working anymore ?
Is it the full system.... Is it just a couple of Buttons we could temporary build with MF ?

Enable data broadcast is set to 1.

Airmanager uses simconnet. None of the buttons or knobs are sending events. Otherwise for example the MCP is receiving the variables for Left and right course, Speed, heading, Altitude and also the switch annunciator lights work.

The comm and Nav panel that airmanager made does fully work but I guess that's because there's no specific pmdg event and variables being used for that.

Do you think there's a way for MF to receive the events from airmanager and reroute them to pmdg?

I think there is no way that MF communicate with airmanager..

I agree.
Do the work of "Air Manager" is pretty sure not possible.
In FSX/P3D Mobiflight currently not talk to SimConnect in any way.
So NO.....

BUT

I´m confused....
The INPUT side have not changed.
With the PMDG Ngx"u" only some new Outputs come on the list. So the Simconnect Areas that include this Data has changed. BUT the internal EventID´s ( as i know) have not changed massive.
I wonder why ALL Inputs are gone..... Cause i thought most of them should be identical to the NGX for FSX/P3dv4.x ! E.g. Via FSUIPC only some Outputs have lost there Offset Adress and some new was not listed.... BUT the Inputs work from first day (withput a patch of FSUIPC as i know) .
Means.... If FSUIPC work that time, then the NGX"u" must use the same Input logic..... FSUIPC also just execute Simconnect Events internal!

Badly i can not help....
The ONLY way i see is , if Airmanager offert a "INI File" or a Config UI where we can select/check the needed data.
May you ask in the Airmanager Support how they do this and if there is a way to rework those files ( e.g. by Text Editor).
then we can support you to do this !

EDIT:
Also a idea.... Ask Pete/John Dowson from FSUIPC.
His Software talk to the old and new PMDG´s ...... Maybe HE can tell you what have changed. This not solve the problem.... But we would finally know the reason for the problem and have may a better starting point to build a solution!

Yeh I did contact Peter Dawson back in 2019. He said the data definition areas changed and a few new items were added. I asked others too but more or less the same answer.

Reason for my late reply is I have been busy investigating and trying a few things. I managed to get it to send events and now I need to find the lvars which are mostly in the format of (switch_xxx_73X ) to make the annunciator lights work like Master Caution, LE Flap EXT, Speed Brake Armed etc etc.

I have been using Linda for this but it does not show annunciator light lvars only for switches and knobs.

Do you know if there's a list available that matches the (switch_xxx_73x) with the NGXu SDK ? Or do you know of another program I can use to read all the lvars?

No... Sorry. I don´t know.

May now you must swap back to PMDG Support. These guys should know there used Lvars.... And may offert a List.
In case Pete Dowson also have the new Lvars cause PMDG "u" work..... May he can give it to you.

Overall..... a bad situation.... You get in trouble just in case the Airmanager Guys not do there work. Bad user support and policy !
