Hi there,

i don't know the forum software you are using and therefore don't know how to open links or pictures (hosted e.g. at imgbb) in a new tab instead of the actual.

What to insert in the [ url ]-tag?

Thanks

Kai

Hmmm.

I use Firefox.
If i Rightclick on a LINK or on a marked text that is a http:// Link...... I can choose for "open" ( same tab) or "open in new tab" or "open in new window"
Good Luck !

I know of this possibility, it also works in Edge and Chrome.

But wouldn't it more comfortable if the creator of the post can set links / images to open in a new tab automatically?

From the UX-perspective nice.

Need to talk to Sebastian and Stephan.....
I not know if a Webside have the posibility to "define" this.

In FIrefox i use the Options menue...... Here i enable " Open Links in new Tabs , instead of a new window" option.

So finally i not know if this is a Webside Thematic or simply a user setting in the browser !
Good Luck !

Well, HTML-Definition says that a "normal" url is declared like <a href="Adress" _target="blank">Klick me</a>
I googled a little and in deed, the used Contao Forum software does not know something like _target. There are some addons which have to be installed...but no clue further more.

And yes, i could set this option as well, but this is in my opinion a "dirty" workaround. What if, if i really want to leave a page where a link is? Then i open a new tab.
After a while i have 17 open tabs and don't know where the hell the music comes from....:D

So, forget it, it was just a question and the solution is not worth the needed effort.
