HI,
I'm about to wire up my button box. I was wondering if there is a way to just plug everything in any-which-way (of course all the button grounds are wired to the ground pins). Then push a button and have the software indicate what pin state changed. Then just assign that pin to the button that was pressed.
Or do I have to list out all 138 of my connections and the pins they are connected to. Then verify each is in it's correct place after being hooked up?
Thanks.

No. Thats not possible.... Cause this workarround is "not normal" for most users.

Most users want a logical sequence.... Means e.g. the 5 Buttons from the COM Pannel should be sorted from Left to Right into e.g. Pin 2-6.
I not meet a user before who like to "blind" set 68 Wires by coincidence to free pins ( without a logical sequence finaly)

In the future we plan for a tool, where you press a Button and then MF tell you what Pin have changed (Inside the Device Settings Tab) .... But also then you have to DEFINE yourself that This Pin is a Button ( Could also be a Encoder or a LED that was on) .... AND you need to enter a Unique Name for it.
BUT THIS is not in current version and not planed for the near future!

******

What you can do to simplify your requested workaround.....

If ALL Elements you like to set are BUTTON Only .... Then you could simply create in MF all the Devices "Blind" and name them Button 01- Button 02 and so on.
Then wire "blind" all buttons to the Mega.
Upload the Config and Start MF.
If you NOW press a Button then MF tell you ( In Logging Mode DEBUG enabled) WHAT Devicename is triggered..... E.g. "Button34 PRESS"
With this System you could simply Identify the button you like to use for a Config by a Press..... And then you use it.
But Sure.... Then All Buttons are named like "Button34" and not like " Autopilot Master Switch" . And also there is no sequence.
E.g. Button34 and Button35 are not next to each other in your panel..... If your wires was not in a sequence then maybe one is from AP the othert is from Radios.

I hope this helps !
Good Luck !
