I'd appreciate held to build and program dual knob encoders for the Cessna 172 in X-Plane 11 for:
1. Radio and Instrument light dimmers
2. Glareshield and pedestal dimmers

I have an Arduino Mega 2560 board running MobiFlight. I found dual encoders at propwashsim.com. Is it possible to connect these to MobiFlight for the above functions?
Thanks in advance.

Hi

I don´t know the Xplane Offsets or Inputs here....

Basicly....

You can run a Encoder with MF..... A Dual Encoder is the same.... Technical just 2 Encoders within one element. So no difference !
Most encoders work..... To get sure you can link them. But i will say 99% will work.

Just take care..... Mostly for light Dimming people use a POTI and thats NOT compatible with Mobiflight !

Finaly.... The Encoder pretty sure work.... But the question is if there is a Input Event or Offset, that you can WRITE with that Encoder.
If e.g. Xplane only work with ON-OFF Logic.... Or the Events for dimming are not available for your AddOn Aircraft.... Then its not possible at all !
Good Luck !

Ok, thanks for your advice. I’ll look into the potentiometers using a different connection to X-Plane.
