Hi Sebastian,

hope you are reading this - Pizman asked me to contact you via Discord, but I'm not using this app.

Problem:
After updating to 8.02 the app is not usable anymore. It's extremely slow. Every button click needs 30-60 seconds to be performed and continous "no reaction" message in main window title (freshly set up Win 10). I went back to 7.82 and this version is working normally. But here I can not load my mcc configuration file anymore (Syntax error)??

Details:
- First I updated from 7.8.2 to 8.0 or 8.1 (can't remember) and here MF wanted to load new Firmware to my 4 Arduinos, but always acknowledged with an error message
- this happens on every start, so I deactivated Auto-Firmware Update, which solved it
- Now on updating to 8.02 the same happens. I deactivated the Auto-Firmware again, but the above slowness issue remains
- What I noticed: during the Start Up Procedure the green bar stops about in the middle ("Identifying Mobiglight boards...") , remains there for about 2 minutes and then the green bar changes the layout, being only half as high as when it initially started. From there on the slowness issue appears.

EDIT 28.2.: tested fresh install of 8.02 without any boards connected => screen freezes after 1 second in status "Start connecting" and green bar reduces it's height again.

Can not use it currently - no flying

Thanks for looking into it!

I now installed Version 7.83.
In this version the .NET bug was fixed and I can now load my mcc file again. However now my Arduino boards are not discovered! Auto-Firmware on or off makes no difference.

To summarize:
On my old PC the same boards and same mcc file were working until version 8.01.
Now on my new PC I have either version 7.83, not identifying the boards or version 8.02, identifying the boards, but with constant "not reacting" errors and crashing after the start routine.

Thank you for your help!!!

I think you do make a backup of your mcc.files
and " clear eeprom" your arduino board with arduino ide,
then restart mobiflight 8.0.2 and the firmware is load automactly in your board.
that do a fresh instal of Mobiflight

OK, I made a fresh reinstall of the latest Arduino IDE software and cleared the eeprom of all 4 boards.

Then reinstalled MF 8.02 and it looked good initially, as the firmware was installed for each board. But after the 4th succesfull install the check routine continued to run through the 4 boards again and this time reporting that it was not able to upload the firmware. After that the standard screen appears, I see my boards but again, the app does not react and crashes after another few clicks!

Then installed 8.02 on another PC (also Win10) - with no boards connected. Same effect: install routine slow (showing "connecting" and the green bar changes it's height to a thin line. Then after fully loading and making the first one two clicks, it's crashing.

Another update:

This time I was able to install 8.02 on my other pc and also on my laptop.
So there seems to be an issue with the computer, I need MF to run on.

Both are Windows 10. The "problem" computer is a fresh Windows installation, the working computer is a bit older. I have no clue where to start searching for the difference in both environments. Why does it install succesfully on one computer and crashes on the other? Everything else is working on the target computer. Not a single issue with other software.

Do you have a hint, what the reason could be, that the installation process is crashing?

Also I tried version 7.83 on the "problem computer". The installation routine is working, but it's just not identifying the Arduino Boards.Even not after emtyping the eeprom.
Does this help to circle the error?

Thank you,
Michael

I am having a similar problem. Version 8.0.2.1 it is really slow and always in (Not Responding). I have reinstalled, cleared eeproms, etc.

Even on reinstall, it goes into (Not Responding) and takes minutes before it snaps out of it. Some sort of conflict with windows?
