Arduino Pro Micro flashed ok, button inputs work ok. 20x4 LCD on 0x27, I2C working (Mobiflight Rocks! on display).

But can't get the Test function on the display to work. When i press "Test Current Settings", the Arduino LEDs flash briefly, but the LCD display doesn't change (still shows "Mobiflight Rocks!")

LCD tested good with a standard Arduino sketch using I2C 0x27. I can flash back and forth from Arduino to Mobiflight firmware.

Hi

Sounds Strange.
Would be cool to see this on a shared screen.

1. Confirm you try a restart.
After Flash Firmware and also after create and Upload a new Device there can be a Problem in rare cases. A Retart of the Mega ( and sure also from software) solve this .

2. Confirm you use the TEST Button in Display Tab.... Not the Global Test button in Main Panel.

3. Can you confirm the problem happen in a verry Rudimentary Setup..... Means nothing else on the Board expect 1 Display. ( And specialy get sure on the used Pins from that Display is nothing else ( e.g. a Key or Button on the same Pins in Device Settings Uploads) .

4. What Information is used in the Display Box while testing ?
Delete the preseted Text completly and write for a 20x4 just something easy like ...

5. Finaly Confirm you use newest Firmware and MF Version.

************
Report experience.... If you can not solve this we need to check.

LAST NOTE: If you got a real Arduino MEGA 2560 r3 ( Instead of your Mini) please test also there. May this is a hardware bug finaly !
Good Luck !

2. Confirm you use the TEST Button in Display Tab.... Yes, using the Test button in the Display tab, not on the main screen

3. Can you confirm the problem happen in a verry Rudimentary Setup..... Means nothing else on the Board expect 1 Display. ( And specialy get sure on the used Pins from that Display is nothing else ( e.g. a Key or Button on the same Pins in Device Settings Uploads) . - Nothing else configured on the board

4. What Information is used in the Display Box while testing ?
Delete the preseted Text completly and write for a 20x4 just something easy like ...

Here something is wrong!

I´m not often in Discord..... But i think this can be solved perfectly with a shared Screen season. You can call me if i´m online or you try to contact Sebastian (DocMoebius) or Stephan there.

If you not be able to join Discord a "logging" File would be nice.... Enable Logging Mode Typ DEBUG.
Start MF for new. Then go to the Display Tab of that Config and Press Test multiple times. Finaly Close and copy paste the "Log.txt" here in Forum.

Other Idea.... If you like you can make a Testrun with a older Version.
For example 7.10.0 https://www.mobiflight.com/tl_files/download/releases/MobiFlightConnector-7.10.0.exe

NOTE: You must clear the Mega at first to flash the "older" Firmware that was used with this Version. If not and Board include the new Firmware of 8.0 then the result of testing is not correct.
And also note.... You not need to delete 8.0.1. Simply install 7.10 in a other folder.... just for testing !
Good Luck !
