Hey all,

Congrats for your work on Mobiflight. This is THE application we all need with this new MSFS and knobs and buttons we like to use.

I am currently using Mobiflight build 20200124 with MSFS2020 events. I would like to attach the ALT SEL knob of, let's say, the Cirus SR22 (G1000) to one of my simple switch box. I cannot find any event to use to set the altitude of the A/P. Using the FSUIPC console, I can see that the AP_ALT_VAR_SET_ENGLISH event is triggered when using the knob with the mouse in the simulator but I cannot find this event in the MSFS2020 events list of Mobiflight. Indeed I can use the corresponding event ID with FSUIPC, it's working well. But I wanted to get rid of FSUIPC and only use Simconnect.

So...Is this event hiding somewhere, or is it possible to add it in a next build?

Thanks for your answers. Keep up the good work.

Hi

Your question is realted to 3 things.... So i try to awnser all of them.

1. FSUIPC Event.
At Release of FS2020 FSUIPC was Beta. And there most Events was Missing ( Specialy the new stuff that was not exist in P3D) But now we got a official FSUPC7 Release. So hopefully it is still included or will be patched in the near future.

2. Mobiflight List of FSUIPC Events
This is NOT a full list.... This is just a Couple of Presets... Mean you not need to insert a Number and choose a Event from the list.
So this list just show the Events Sebastian included many years ago. We not Update this cause we know most users finaly insert the Event Numbers by hand.... And thats overall much more profitable !
So.... If something is missing.... Then Check the FSUIPC Event ID List ( PDF i think) OR use the Logging in FSUIPC to get the Number..... Then Create a "Empty" Input Config and insert the EventID and Parameter by hand !

3. Simconnect
In tha past we not plan for this..... But in case FSUIPC was Beta for many months and FS2020 was not realy useable Sebastian implement Simconnect Support for a couple of Elements ( aslo not everything.... But the G1000 is included).
To use this feature download the BETA from Mobiflight ! ( Enable the BETA Checkmark in settings and Restart MF) .

Good Luck !

Hi and thanks for your answer!

1. Got it.
2. Got it.
3. I am already using the Beta. Great job in addin the simconnect support. Well...yesterday, I was a bit confused between FSUIPC and SimConnect. Now, after reading thins here and then, I have a clearer view. I just cannot find the Simconnect event to fire in order to move the "ALT SEL" knob, which is supposed to control the A/P altitude. I had a look in the different events group but didn't find anything working so far.

As a workaround, I continue using the FSUIPC instead (AP_ALT_VAR_SET_ENGLISH) and it works quite good. I can use SimConnect event for moving the heading bug, the vertical speed bug, but I use FSUIPC for the altitude bug....hybridism is currently my key.

So, if anyone using the beta know how to control the altitude using the SimConnect events, I'll be happy to know how. I'm aiming at using SimConnect only and removing FSUIPC of my tools list....

Thats not a option !

Whatever if Sebastian increase the Simconnect Section.... Here we still talk about INPUT. For a Output.... e.g. the Readout of Data to light a LED or to show Altitude on your Autopilot Panel..... You will always need FSUIPC. And as i know there is no current planing to implement Simconnect for Outputs !

*****
About future.... Here i can not make a anouncement, cause we get a strange situation at the moment. Sebastian said lots of years he not plan for simconnect but do it now.... So i will see 3 possible ways.

1. This feature was temporary to solve the missing FSUIPC Situation until it get finished. Means the feature remain but not get supported cause FSUIPC will work fine in the future.
2. This System get impelement as a hybrid.... So he fully support it from now and user can choose between both systems free.
3, It was just a "first aid" and he think its no longer needed after FSUIPC is finished.... So he removed it completly again and we go back to old policy.

I think 1 will happen.... 2 will be a better solution but it takes more work..... 3 is the whorst way,
Good Luck !

You're right. I forgot the outputs. Hence, the hybrid way of working is not a bad solution for now.

Thanks again. The thread can be closed.
