Hi All,

Does anyone know if we can use MobiFlight to drive a stepper motor to follow autopilot elevator and aileron output? I finished building my dual linked yoke and was wondering if using a stepper motor is an option to drive the yoke when on autopilot, I use Prosim737 but dont think Prosim is able to drive a stepper.

Any help or direction is appreciated.

Thanks
Karan

ProSim is the simulated Aircraft.... It garantee not controll a Motor ! It just support Data you need to build those motorised elements.
If you read this Data via Mobiflight or via a Own Software... thats another point !

Basicly you should google and read the forum about the "Motor Throttle" in a Boeing. Thats technical the same situation !

I will say... A Stepper will not work.
1. A Stepper need a Zero Point. If you move the Element by Hand ( While AP is off) you would manipulate the Motor.... So Zero Point is lost.
2. A Motor ( small steppers with plastic gears) get broke if you try to move them by hand. So a direct connection will also not work.

What you need here is a glutch system. So the Motor is not "disturbed" by a own input with your hands.
If you like it "real" so you can make a Input by hand also if the Motor is ON ( Disable the Autopilot by moving the Yoke against the Motor) this is again much more difficult.

***********
Summary:
this is the most advanced Element you can Build.... And i will say not possible with a stepper. Maybe possible with Motors.... Controllers and YES with Mobiflight. But pretty sure not by a simple Config and just a single Motor. this will need mechanics.... Sensors .... Multiple Motors .... and finaly a advanced Config.
Good Luck !
