Hello

Yesterday all was fine. Today at start MB I received an error and MB do not start. Is in NET FRAMEWORK: exception in .... variable was assigned before.

I´m trying to understand what is matter. I using the MB DEBUG, but I can´t understand this....:

By example:

11/12/2020 16:29:38(474): Problem with transform. An error occured on parsing your value formula. Please review and correct any errors.

I read again and again the *.mfmc and *.mcc. I´ve 2 2560 and 2 LCD (that´s they has give me all the problems), but I can´t see any error and I losted.

Please...could you please tell the meaning of this (474), (etc), (etc) (the number is variable...) that I can read in the debug?.

The problem is that If I try to come back and load an old file of config the LCD´s (two) MB think that is conected to the other 2560... and I can´t continue.

I think you talk about two different things.

The issue with your LCD and the 2 Megas is maybe firmware related. Here i can not give a awnser at the moment. Maybe a bug or maybe a issue how you handle the situation.

BUT

The Error code above is normaly Config Related..... As it says.... You got a issue in a "transform" with a corrupt value in parsing.

This mostly occure if you create a config line ( Whatever select as active or not) that is empty.... Or you use a not allowed elemnt in a Transform or Compare field.
For example if you use a STRING Output in Transform like if($=1,0,Hello) ..... In Transform only Integer are allowed and no Strings for example.
Same can happen if you use a Variable Placeholder that not exist.

Many possible issues...... Can´t tell you what exactly without see the MCC file.


To solve....
in most cases the issue is in one of the LAST configs you create or rework in your last seasson when Mobiflight work fine already..... So most in the last config line.
If you can load it you can rework..... If not you can edit it with Notepad e.g.

Summary: THAT error is 99% a issue in a config done by youreself !

I´m sure that the issue is my fault. MB has own life. But...if something work fine and without make nothing at start do not start, is rare no?. A problem that I get with the two LCD is that several times at start, the LCD lost all the config refernces, and it is strange and frustrating. A lot of hours trying to recover all the values, etc, etc.

I know it, but I want to know why is happening, because I do not want again and again fall in the same mistake.

I appreciated a lot your help. I read always with attention your explanations and I´m learning a lot with you. You´re very kind with me anf you´ve a great patience.

I not understand exactly what problem you got with the LCD .....
In former post you say something from a second MEGA..... Now you say it lost the config Refferences.

About Config Refferences (placeholders). YES This is a know bug and it is still fixed in the BETA Versions. Not yet in the Live Version.
After that fix Placeholders no longer get lost.
You can use the BETA if you like..... But on own risk. This versions can include some other thing too that are not documentate or explaned.... As it call.... Its BETA !


About The issue that come "from itself" after a systemstart whatever it run fine the last day.

This can be a "ironic" situation.
There is a improtant differnce between run Mobifligh while the Programm is active and "startup" Mobiflight.

For example you open Mobiflight.... All is fine. Then you create a New Output Config . There you make a misstake. For example a Syntax Error in the Transform line.
BUT now you disable this config line ( no checkmark) . If you press RUN there is no error warning and MF run well..... Cause in this moment that "bad" config is not used.
If you now Save and close MF all looks good.
At next Startup Mobiflight Load the last used file..... And NOW it will check at first startup every single Code Line if it´s OK..... Also Configs that are disabled.
It detect the issue and stop working..... In whorst Case it crash and no longer be able to startup .... So you need to remove the corrupt MCC file by hand.

Simply solution..... NOT make misstakes :-)

I can´t believe that I´m losting time and life again and again fighting against a bug of MB!!!!! My God!!!!

Ok. I´ll try the BETA version. It can´nt be worst...

I understand your explanation. Yes: I am very carefully with the new output configs... however, I´m getting errors not by mine I think. I can´t understand how to use the DEBUG program of MB it do not help me nothing.

Each time that I´ve an error, like now..., I correct the MCC by hand, but now I read, and read the MCC and I get the error: "your config..., please check syntaxis errors", but I can´t find nothing.

MB for me with LCDs is fustrating. I´m tired.

I´ve 1 2560 with all leds and buttons. The other 2560 is with 2 LCD and a lot of encoders and buttons.

PLEASE: How can download the BETA version? I can´t find it in the web.

To get BETA..... Simply use the checkmark in the SETTINGS Menue of Mobiflight. On the first Tab there is a area. "Join Beta Group"
Enable it and Pres OK.
At NEXT Startup of Mobiflight it no longer check just for a new Version in the Live Server.... It also Check now if there is a BETA Version, newer then your current one.
So the "Update" to a Beta Version workes same way automaticly like in the past when a new official version is released and MF ask you if you like to update!

About the whole situation.
A Problem is always bad..... For You and also for Us cause we need to think about it.
Critical is.... Form your short informations i´m not be able to see or understand if it´s a Bug or a User Issue.
And whatever it´s a Bug..... What happen if only YOU get the Bug ?
This happen to me some years ago.
I got a Bug but the same file i shared to Stephan and Sebastian work fine for them. I KNOW it was a Bug..... And i showed them in a Video. But how should they solved it if they can not reproduce. It takes lots of weeks and many "Beta Trys" for Sebastian to change things "in the dark" , that are not broke for him to help me.

So sure.... we fully interested to support you and we like to figure out. But what we would need is a "Situation".
Can you reduce the situation as much as possible ?
What we need is a instruction to reproduce the Issue.
For example you tell us.... Create on Mega-A 3 Buttons on Pin 4,5,6 . Create on Mega-B 2 LCD Create a Config File with this 4 Configs.... Press RUN.
In easy words.... Can you give us the most easy and compact situation the issue happens so we can rebuild it in Hardware and Software on our computer and check if it happens, too ?

I´m LXIX to think that I the only man to get this error do not like. I never won the Loto. I think that if LCD with MB is new, perhaps it have several problems. You wrote me that yes, there is one.

You wrote that in the topics and the discord group talked about that problem. I read a lot of problems, before to ask to you, but there is a lot of information here...

I can send to you the problem, but if you do not have the same HW, my MCC do not will be useful I think. Remember your idea working with EIGHT values each LCD (20x4). Nice.

I surrender with this proyect. A lot of hours not losted, because I learned a lot, but too many hours starting the same work. NOw another time losting the configs of LCD.

When MB will be more stable I´ll come back here. Now my last proyect with MB is working and I´ve copkit for FSX and FS2020. I hope that it will not crash again.

A bug. In the Settings of MB modules, If you try to SAVE AS the settings of a module, it do not work. Only if you use SAVE is working. It´s not important...but...

I´m sorry to hear this.
But sure. feel free to come back in the future !

As you already say.... Without your Hardware testing is difficult for me. Here we would need your MFMC Files.... So we can flash a Board same way like yours ( no mater if the devices are wired to it.... Just important that the config is the same.)

Also thank you for your MCC file.... But here i will say the truth.... Thats to much work for me. Lots of Configs and i got no information when the issue occures and what you done shortly before.

Thats why i said..... We would need a "basic and easy" situation.
Pretty sure if this mcc is buggy then 99% of Configs are fine.... Just One or two are problematic.
So i not like to check and observe your full cockpit. I would need a MCC file with only 1 Config or maybe 5 or so..... Simply a file you can "rebuild" the problematic Situation in the most easy way. THEN we will see the issue within 1 minute!

Also some testing progress must done by the users.
You already figure out the problem is located to the LCD..... ins´t it ??

The only problem is that the config of all the LCD. They lost always, when MB want. It´s like the SAVE do not work... It´s the only problem I think. MB is very rigid. If you make an error you don´t know of it working. When you push SAVE and you think that all is Ok..., no, my friend: at start MB again it tell to you: ¡¡Ehhhhh? You maked an error and I don´t want to start. Now, work, work and investigue... Very nice. I know that MB is free and for me, is a great piece of SW and help a lot to a person that know deep SW and HW an windows... I can´t ask to it nothing. Only to say thank you. And the help of you is great. Is the frirst time that I receive answer to all my questions and I´ve learned a lot of MB with you. Thanks also.

Now, with all finished and mounted, very nice I think I only wait to the new MB version that solve the bug of configurations of LCD ( I hope, because the BETA for me has been worst. Impossible to get the configs into the LCD. MB close...

I know that the people mount all with large displays, but I´ve in 24x15 cm all tgha I need to pilot any airplane....

In case i not like "open problems" ..... I just see some issues.

For example some configs include "wrong" elements.

For example.... In the Config LCD VERDE LCD VERDE
You use a Transform (whatever inactive) x+10000 .
X is not defined in that config references. So that occure in a error ( or can do)

You also mix up characters and symbols
In Config "SUMA de DME1 DME2 you use formula #+* ...... This is a fault. Cause * Symbol is a math operator. If you use the placeholder in a formula you should use only characters.... Like a b c d e f

Inverted Issue in the Display Configs.
Here you use characters/letters for the variables..... e.g. "t"
Same time you write Label Text. Maybe it still work.... But it is not correct.
For a Display Placeholder (LCD) we use Symbols we NOT use same time for Lable Text .... *#$%&§

I not fully check every single config line..... That was the faults i dierectly see on first view.

Really you are right. Is true that I use * and as you tell me is a math symbol. The problem is that it works!!!!. And several times when I start again MB start Ok with this issues, like you like. I use problems because is more spanish word. Problems is the translation of issue in Spanish. But if you prefer issue, Ok.

If Config Refferences/Placeholder Settings are not Saved Correctly ( get lost with next startup) then THIS is a Bug. I already said.... This is solved within the BETA Version.
If you download Beta 7.10.12 this should be solved already !

NOTE: newest Beta is 7.10.13 and including a experimental System for FS2020 Simconncet. I recommend to NOT use it. Load 7.10.12 !
