Hello Guys,
I created a led config and defined refrerences that can be used, for example SPD . I select it and save everything before closing. I start MF again, open my led config, but SPD reference is not selected, that means it hasn't been saved. I guess that this topic ever exists, I tried to find something similar in that forum, but nothing interested for me. I really need help.
Regards and stay safe

Ok

I remember about a problem with missing placeholders in the past....
And i still know it would be fixed.
But i not remember if it was fixed already in 7.10 ( i don“t think so)
OR
If the fix was one of the BETA Releases.

So if you like.... Please enable the BETA Tool in the Settings..... Then Restart MF.
After that it will popup a message that a newer Version is available ( 7.10.xx ) i think its .09 or higher at the moment.

Please load it.... If needed and ask you also update firmware.

Finaly report if problem is solved or not!
Good Luck !

OK.

Thanks for testing. That means the Fix for the "missing placeholder checkmark" is within one of the Betas.
So in the next official Version ( 7.11 or 8.0 ) that part is still implement for everybody !

@all users..... Until next official release.... If you got the SAME Issue please simply use the BETA Tool.
Good Luck !

Hello all together,

today I had an issue while saving a configuration. I defined some config references which had disappeared
after saving and opening the configuration file again. Since you dicussed a similar case already some time ago,
I am arguing if this issue poped up again with version 9.2.0.

Best regards

Hi Wolf!

Basically NO

Your the first who reported this (since the confirmed Bug in 2020) .... So i will say this looks like a "personal" problem.

Please Confirm..... Your mcc file ( and MF) are in a non protected Folder.

Mostly this issue happens if people use Mobiflight in NON Admin mode AND MF ( or the Save File) is located in a protected Win Folder like "Porgrammfilesx86"

*****************

So....

Please confirm your MF and the MCC file is in a "free" folder like c:/Mobiflight

If Problem happens again.... Please make a reproduceable Situiation where you can see the issue 100% at all time..... Tell us how to rebuild this....
If we confirm the issue we can pretty sure offert a Patch/hotfix solution within some days.
Good Luck !

Hi,
LOVE MobiFlight, but having some real problems getting config references to work.
Here's the scenario:

I have Panel Backlight that has Panel ON/OFF switch and Dimmer POT.
I have an INPUT on both that sets Mobiflight variables.
The switch state = 0/1
The dimmer state = 0-254

I have an OUTPUT that sets the PWM value. All working except I cannot tie these values together.
What I want is a modifier (Compare) that does this:

$ = SwitchState * DimmerState

The issue I am having is that the defined MobiFlight variables do not appear in the Config list.
I have enabled BETA, but I'm not getting many of my configured inputs.

My install is in C:\Flightsim\Mobiflight. I am running as an administrator, and I am running BETA.

In my mind, all INPUTS and VARS would be available as Config References, but I don't see most of my INPUTS. I tried to attach screenshots but it doesn't seem to allow image uploads. It would seem that Config References only show OUTPUTS.

This seems like a simple scenario but I have spent hours going in circles trying to figure out what I am missing.
Please HELP! Thank YOU!!!

I finally got this to work but it is a real hack.

I had to create an OUTPUT that sets an INPUT and uses VAR
Then I could reference the VAR.

It seems that VAR and Configs from the INPUT side, do not show in my list of config references on the OUTPUT side.

I think it should work as follows:

All INPUTS and VARS should be GLOBAL. They should be available in any Config Reference whether on INPUT or OUTPUT side.
Is that the way it is supposed to work? Is there something wrong with my setup?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi

There exist still a Issue/Feature Request for this.
We discuss lots of hours how we should handle this in the future and i think with our bigger GUI Change in MF 10.0 maybe this is clear.

Current Logic/Idea:

Mobiflight Variables was not there since beginning. Its a pretty new feature ( 1 Year ago) ..... Also Placeholder/Refferences was no basic idea. We implement it 2 Years ago.
In the first Mobiflight Versions the only feature we got was "Precondition" where we could combine a "External" Condition into a logic of a single config.
And THAT TIME we decide.... The Only allowed Typ of Value for a Condition must be a existing Output Config!

That time this makes sence..... Cause the only typ of Value we could read was a FSUIPC Offset .... So to get this value we already need at first a Output Config at all.

Today your right.... We now got Mobiflight Vars ( who can be create within a Input Config) .... So it looks strange that we need at first create a Output Config that read this internal Var to be able to use it as a Precondition or Refference somewhere else....
But (for now) we decide to remain this baisc logic cause its used all the years on all spots.
So.... Not comfortable and intuitive.... But its consistent!

Expect a change maybe in 10.0.
Good Luck !
