Hi everyone,

I have been reading thru related posts and answers, but since I am new with the MSFS and MobiFlight I am not sure if I correctly understood everything that has been written.

So I am using Windows machine with MSFS2020, FSUIPC 7 and an Arduino Mega Board .

What I am trying to achieve is switching the Altitude Hold button, following the park break example. I already managed to get the encoder working to increase/ decrease the altitude (as per the YouTube tutorial).

I have been addressing the offset 07D0. For On Press I have been assigning a value of 1 and on release a value of 0 - hope those values make sense?

So, applying the switch does have the effected I was hoping for, i.e. I could virtually pull or push the altitude bug.

Possibly this function is not yet available for MSFS2020?

Any help out there?

Greetings from EDDM, Helge

Hi !

which youtube tutorial you refer ? Do you have the link please.

I m using windows 10 + MSFS2020 + Airbus A320X + Mega 2560.

I have an encoder for the altitude with a 7 segments : i have (if i well understood  ) the same problem : when i turn my encoder to change the ALT value, it's work fine in the simulator but, my 7 segments doesn't show the ALT value in real time, but only when i pull or push the encoder in the simulator. (if anybody have th solution ;) even if i consider that fsuipc is a beta version)

I will try your assigning to test, but i thing you are right when you assigne 1 and 0 to press/release with the 07D0 offset.

Best

Hi Ben,

Many thanks for your reply!

This is the tutorial I have been referring to:

There is also a second part to the tutorial.

Hope this helps!

Quick update from testing, with the Airbus 320neo (which I missed out to mention in my initial post):

- switching the button to toggle the AP Altitude Hold actually has an effect that can be noticed in the primary flight display (FMA)

The following link explains the FMA:

https://www.theairlinepilots.com/forumarchive/a320/a320-fma.pdf

- switching the button even seems to trigger (sometimes, I have not found out the logic yet) that the aircrafts starts to climb or decent according to the altitude set in the FCU

- I tried the same assigning the AP Altitude Hold to one of the joystick buttons (Airbus T.320), results are exactly the same

Resolved as follows:

- checking the event ID in FSUIPC console log, which is 68067 for "altitude_slot_index_set" that is showing up when pulling or pushing with the mouse the altitude bug

- in Mobiflight > Inputs > Action Type > Event ID with parameter 2 for on press and 1 for on release
