I have searched all over google and here. Although some people mentioned elaborate ways to use keyed switches to start dual engines, I have not found any simple ways to start a single engine plane with a simple press of a button much like modern cars now have. I noticed that there is two event ids .... auto-start and auto-shutoff. What I want to do is have a push button to start my cessna engine going. Curently I can do that in MSFS2020 with the keypress of "control- E". I would like to kill power to the engine with a simple toggle switch. It would be nice if a led stays lit as long as the engine is running.

Hi

Badly FS2020 still not allow sending key presses by Mobiflight. In that case you could easy set CTR-E to that button and all is fine.
Whatever.... Try the follow eventID . At first please try with TWO Buttons. (or with one button in 2 testing runs) .
66224 ENGINE_AUTO_START
66531 ENGINE_AUTO_SHUTDOWN

At first find out if both Events WORK ! Also try out what happen if you use the "start" event a second time if engine is still running. Does it simply shoutdown it, too ?

If engine toggle with the first event..... Just use this.
If NOT Then you need TWO Configs.... And a Precondition.
So if Engine is currently OFF then the firt Config work and use the "start" event. If Engine is currently ON the second config work and use the "shotdown" event.

As Precondition we can simply use your also requested LED.
Here we read a easy indication. For example RPM
0896 2 Engine 1 Jet N2 as 0 – 16384 (100%).
Read this offset while aircraft is on Ground..... What does it show. Then Start engine in IDLE and check again
With this data you can create a condition ( compare) like IF Value is greater e.g. 300 THEN 1 ELSE 0 .
MEans the LED is ON if value of Offset is greater then a Number ..... Means it´s running !

Finaly you can use this config for the precondition of Button..... Cause now this LED Config show "1" for Engine Running and "0" for engine OFF.
Good Luck !
