good evening dear friends, after installing version 7.10.0 I am very happy with all the new features.
unfortunately I found that after 6/7 hours of operation I lose the functioning of a card.
closing and reopening MF a message appears stating that a card needs a new firmware.
even trying to install a new firmware I don't get success.
also a card is unknown.
if I restart the PC the problem is solved a few times, but not always.
I tried to download 7.10.0 again but the problem returns (today after a few minutes of flight).
My PC has windows 7 - 64 bit.
I use FSUIPC version 5.

Not know that specific issue.

Can you confirm the problem is always on the SAME board ? If yes i recommend to "reset" this problematic board completly....

IF YES

Best way is to use another Mega instead to check if you got a problematic Mega itself !
Another way is to check the existing Mega.
So Save the MFMC File if possible to prevent a complete new creating of the devices....
Then EEPROM Clear it.
Flash Firmware for new.
And Create Devices new or copy and upload the saved MFMC File.

Another idea is to chage the connection. We got some reports that boards on a USB HUB or on a special USB Port on the Computer are problematic..... Sometimes also the USB Cable from mega to Hub/Port is the key.....

For me it sounds like a hardware Problem. if you can try to change Cable/Hub/Port and try to refresh the Board...... Report if Problem is still active cause then it maybe is a problem in mobiflight itself !

the problem occurs each time with a different card; I have already tried, however, to delete and load new firmware.
as far as connections are concerned, I have had many problems in the past and now, for a long time, I have been using HAMA cables, professional HUBs and everything is perfectly powered with common NEGATIVE.
in fact I hadn't had any problems with version 7.8 anymore.
the only problem I had with version 7.8 was the impossibility of 2 or more simultaneous INPUTs.
However I will do some checks and I think I can give results in 2 days.

As i know the most important change from 7.8. to 7.10 was the "rework" of the initialisation process.... So Board get scanned at systemstart much more faster and more profitable. But technical IF they are detected and shown in Mobiflight then there should be no real difference to prior versions.
You say the board work for hours or minutes..... So that mean they "survive" the initialisation already..... Means this is not the problem i think !
But sure.... I not know if Sebastian do also some reworks on other spot and not annouce them officialy....

About the Double Actions.

Here i know only one situation from the past.... If we "mechanical" combine 2 or more inputs. Best example is the LandingLight in a B737. Here some users build a metal plate behind the 4 Landing Light switches that can move all 4 together. This is problematic cause Mobiflight must detect 4 Inputs 100% same time. If you move the switches with the inner side of the hand it can already work cause your hand is not straight. In theory it´s enough if the switches are pushed some milliseconds apart.... Then MF should show multiple inputs.
The FSUIPC side is still fixed. If you make extremly 20 Inputs within a second ( Encoder e.g.) then Mobiflight simply send them with a little delay in a row until all commands are trasfered. So thats no problem since Version 7.4.

Summary: Maybe we need some more information if the problem is not hardware related.
Please if possible enable Logging Mode Typ DEBUG ..... I know the usage is bad in case all is verry slow. BUT in the Logging file we can see the Problems maybe.
So Do it... Wait until a board is missing. then stop MF and copy the "log.txt" file and send it to us via Discord. Please with a little notice what board is geting broke.

as regards the MULTI-INPUT: 2 pilots can, for example, touch HEADING and CRS on the MCP panel at the same time or press 2 buttons or switches at the same time.
this is very common in DOUBLESIDE homecockpit.
Up to version 7.8 it was necessary maximum attention with 2 pilots not to touch together ...
with version 7.10 there is no problem and 2 pilots work perfectly at the same time

Badly i not see on first view a final problem..... But i see a high number of Megas ( Whatever not a big problem cause MF work confirmed also with 20+ Megas ! )

Just to confirm....
How do you Power the Megas ? Do you handle all via USB Ports on the Computer.... Do you use "Hubs" ??
If Yes do you use powered Hubs ( with how many mA ?) Or do you power the Megas with a external Power suply directly into the Megas ?

actually I solved the problems related to HUBs, power supplies, etc. many months ago.
use HUB and professional cables; everything is powered by a single source with different voltages and sufficient power.
even the MEGAs are powered individually at 9v (but always from a single power supply BUS and negative common to everything).
Actually I haven't had any problems for a long time even with my many MEGAs.
only by upgrading with 7.10.0 did the problems begin (but the MULTI-INPUT is also very nice).
I thought one thing.
when MF is running and AUTO UPLOAD FIRMWARE is enabled, does it make automatic upload attempts while running?
if so and if there were firmware path problems this could cause problems .....
some MEGAs may suddenly find themselves without firmware ....
it's just an idea I would like your opinion.
maybe I'm wrong the path to arduino inside extras-setting-etc.
i also downloaded latest version of arduino.

I don´t think so.

At first i must say.... I NOT know what Sebastian change. He tell me in easy words what he have done in 7.10 but he not explane every single step. So as i know nothing have changed after the startup itself. Yes 7.10 segnificant change the system how Mobiflight detect the connceted Elements when it startup. this reduce starting times from minutes to seconds and is much more stable ! BUT as i know THEN ( so after the loading bar is finished and Connector is open) there should be NO change at all.

Your idea with Auto Firmware is good. Whatever it should be no factor! This Option is build to use Arduinos for other things ( Like self build Joystick Controllers or own sketches) .
With enable checkmark Mobiflight will try to flash the Megas ( offert you the Popup "New Mega found without firmware) at every Systemstart..... You can disable this by hand if you know you got a mega on the PC that should not be used by mobiflight to avoid this question !
But again. This should not be a factor after startup like in your example after some mins or hours.


Summary: Sebastian need to check this if he is back from his buisness trip !

during the various steps I tried to reinstall version 7.8.3.
also I may have made mistakes in renaming the file.
in practice: at this moment I am not sure which version is installed in the PC !!
I ask if there is a method to understand which version is installed.
