Hello...

you know that feeling....when you try it for the first time and...

it doesn;t work...

so...back again...try again...and then YES...parking brake light goes on when the parking brake is on...that makes sense.

It didn't work at first because I didn't load FSUIPC ..as it isn't mentioned in the first_steps_tutorial.

But as I remembered I figured that out pretty quick and then I went on.

And then...you remember that first feeling when it DOES work??? :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Although it works fine (and now I can go along and add more stuff): 2 things which were not clear to me:

When assigning an output (in this case the parking brake led) there is now a (new?) option in the definition called "Transform"--> "$"

Now, there is a check-box which is by default checked (=on) but, what is it, what does it do and should it be 'on'??

Other thing is the "active" checkbox.

The 'rule' parking brake is checked so it's active, fine. Can you change it when MSFS is running and will it accept, also when you go from non-active to active?

I tried but in my case I really couldn't get it working anymore....

Well..thanks, looks promising, looking forward to hook more stuff to the Mega!

(ooh: PS: in a previous post I asked if, with the latest version, it is possible to install MF on an UNO.

Welll...it's not. Can't upload the MF firmware where with the Mega it worked directly).

Thanks!

Hi
Welcome again to Mobiflight !

About UNO.... You still figure out.... It´s no longer compatible. We got the idea to support it but it won´t work ( simply in case of the small RAM we can not provide our firmware on it) .
The Option to use UNO is still there in case some users work with it ( for easy things like a simple Input switch and nothing else)...... But official we no longer think or talk about it!

The other questions.....

the "active" checkmark means if a Config is currently used or not. Technical in a finished project you got only configs that are used active..... This is just a little helpfull tool in the building progress..... So for example i build a config that use a other config as a precondition. If the config is automaticly active ( without a posibility to disable it) Mobiflight would crash cause i try to use data that not already exist..... Or while testing progress i create for example 10 Configs who use all the same LED..... If they would be active at the same time the LED would be sensless on or off.... So we implement this option to decide yourself if a config should work or not.
NOTE: For savety reasons this checkmark is always OFF by default..... Get sure you enable it when you like to use a config !

The "Transform" is a important tool in Mobiflight. If you create a Config e.g. with a Offset/Size/Typ the current value is simply the RAW data from FSUIPC. But in lots of cases we need to "rework" this data. For example by a formula ( codeline) . Something like "if($>1000,1,0) or so.... Or if Data is in wrong format.... So we need to say $/65536*360 to get degrees Heading out of a senseless raw number of FSUIPC.

Same way "Compare" and "Interpolation" workes.... If we anable this plugins we gan also manipulate tha raw value..... Compare is mostly used to show Characters instead of Numbers..... So a LCD Display Show "Gear UP" if Offset is 0 and "Gear DOWN" if Offset is not zero.
The Interpolation is used for non-linear Analog Gauges (Motorised) mostly.

********************
Summary: Read the manual..... Use Forum Search..... And if you stuck.... Ask here or call us on Discord. We help you !
Good Luck !

Thank you pizman82 for you (long) answer!

Yes, lot to learn and will slowly get into it ... but that first time you see it work is really remarkable!!

My question about the $ (very well explained btw) and the active function are coming from the fact that in the first_steps_tutorial it is not mentioned.

I guess it wasn't there when the tutorial (parking brake) was written but therefore I didn't know if it was right and why it was there (same with the fact that fsuipc should be loaded at first).

But, with your explanation and some try_out it works, time to hook up displays, buttons, more lights etc
(and now it does work I will make donation of course....)

Thanks again!

Apollogy for that..... Your 100% Right.

When Sebastian make this Tutorials on the homepage the Transform was not exisiting ( called multiply-field that time and not allow formulas)

Badly nobody got time and likes to start a new tutorial over the years......
BUT
Youtube is our friend.

A lot of users make Videos about there projects.... make realy nice guides or simply show how they build there configs!
Simply get to Youtube and search for "mobiflight" ..... you will see at first the official videos.... After scroll down you will come to the users.
E.g. "Helimech" a Cool guy from Brunei make a wonderfull Channel.... Or "Rudy" who show in 30+ Videos the programming of a Radio Step by Step !
Good Luck !
