Good morning everyone,
I hope you can help with a question I have about installing Mobiflight on my Arduino Mega2560 R3.
I have downloaded and installed the Arduino IDE from the Microsoft store, tested it works with my mega and that's all good.
I have downloaded the connector and run mobiflight connector, it has done its thing and searched for my Arduino and then comes up with a problem needing to point to my Arduino IDE. The problem is I don't know where Windows 10 Store installs it. It's not in the usual places (program files, program files (x86) etc.) and the shortcut target I have for it isn't helpful (it starts ArduinoLLC.ArduinoIDE_mdqgnx93 and I can't select the target box).
I think it's at C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\ArduinoLLC.ArduinoIDE_1.8.42.0_x86__mdqgnx93n4wtt\ but I can't enter that (or find it using the directory navigator) in the box that says "Set path to Arduino IDE".
Is there another way of installing the application onto the Mega? Failing that, is there a better solution to my problem?
Many thanks,
David

Uninstall arduino. Then download arduino straight from arduino.cc . Install it to regular program files folder, then it will solve your problem. Arduino installed from Microsoft store into some hidden folders and the path is long with atypical characters , lots people have problems that way.

Ah, nuts, had a nasty feeling it was going to be something like that.

Thank you for the guidance, I will do that.

Hi
Just a hint.....

NOT install any elements of your Homecockpit ( flightsim, Ardunino IDE, Mobiflight, FSUIPC, AddOns and so on) into the Windows Folders.
In case those are write protected it´s high recommend to install everything into "free" folders.

The best was is to install it in a own Harddisk ( e.g. for better speed a M.2 SSD) If not posible make a partition of a existing harddisk... So you split it into c:/ and d:/ and install all
Sim stuff in d:/
If also not possible make a directory in the root like c:/Flightsimstuff/ and install there.
Good Luck !

Thank you for the advice, I have stuck FSUIPC and Mobiflight in a /Apps/ folder rather than a windows managed one. How can I direct where FS2020 installs to? I didn't see an option to install it to a different directory (this is the Microsoft Store version, not the Steam one).

I've uninstalled the Windows Store Arduino IDE and installed the installer version and this has resolved my initial problem. Now all I need to do is fix the problem with MobiFlight not being able to connect to FSUIPC. I will work on that and if (when) I get stuck I will ask for more help.

Many thanks,
