Good afternoon,

Today my AliExpress Mega 2560 board arrived but MobiFlight cannot recognize it. In the Arduino App it is working fine. This is the info of the board

In the Arduino App:
BN: Unknown board
VID: 0403
PID: 6001
SN: Upload any sketch to obtain it

In Windows Device Manager:
avrdude: Device signature = 0x1e9801
FTDIBUS\COMPORT&VID_0403&PID_6001

In Windows device manager it shows up as "USB Device" and not as "Arduino Mega blabla". I also had to install FT232 drivers.

Do I just have badluck or can I solve this problem?

Is it a CH340 Controller ?

if yes you need to download the drivers. ( Special for that CH340 Boards)
Google for it or maybe Stephan or a other use got a link for you !

Normaly it should work.
You can also try to make a EEPROM Clear by the sketch with the arduino IDE...... and after that you try again,
Sometimes New boards ( or still used with arduini things) can not be detected correctly. Here the EEPROM clear will help !

I will say one of this 2 problems is the key.... Pretty sure your board will work finaly !

The FTDI Drivers are installed and in Device manager I see "USB serial Port (COM 5)" without any error. I don't think it is a CH340 board (cannot find it on the chips). I tried the drivers and got blue screens (in Windows 10) On AliExpress they say it is a CH340G but Windows is recognize it ok and the Arduino software is working fine. I also did the EEPROM trick a couple of times without succes. Only MobiFlight did not recognize it..NunaLinkFSX is working fine also but ofcourse I prefer MobiFlight

I think (pretty sure) I have the FT232RL on this device...HARdware ID: FTDIBUS\COMPORT&VID_0403&PID_6001

Please confirm you use newest Mobiflight Release Version 7.9.0 ( In the last Version was a bug to find the boards in case of a Windows Update that kill Mobiflight temporary.

Your VID/PID is in the List and must work from Mobiflight side.....

I can confirm that it is the newest version. I also tested it with the beta version. Besides that I tested it on another Windows 10 machine with the newest version of MF...Same result..

Badly i can not reproduce. Sure it can be realy a bad Mega. But i don´t think so.

What i would do in your situation...... google for a programm that check your drivers. In some cases old USB, Motherboard, Controller drivers and so on occure in those errors.
There exist software solutions that check all drivers and firmwares of your system and download/install all together as needed.

Another idea is to test different Megas. If you got friends who own Megas ask them to give it to you for testing. If you find out all Megas would not run we need to search for another problem. If all work and only yours is problematic we got again a different situation.

So.... Again apollogy for that. Sad i can not support you more.

Nope...Today I received another Ali Express board and that one was working perfect. But no succes with the one mentioned before. I am sure it is a combination between that board and MF. I tried everything but gave up on it.

All other apps are working fine with the board....

Two days ago I got exactly the same arduino with the same data as Dutchylex and in the same way is not seen in MF. In the arduino application everything is ok, the board is stitched, cleaned it. Moreover, there is an old mega board and it works without problems in the MF. So I am already the third with the same problem.

I am sorry that your experiencing issues with detecting your module.
Please enable logging in the settings, set it to DEBUG and then send me the log.txt via Discord. This will help to track down the problem.

Hi sebastian, i have the same problem with such a "chinese" arduino. Everything works normally so I can upload, blink code works normally etc only MF cannot upload firmware. Also with a 2nd "china arduino" it does not work.
Then installed Driver ch340 again (with driver signature enforcement disabled) but in MF it won't work.
Eeprom-clear executed and retried but board remains unknown in MF. I am using win 10 and FSX steamedition.
PS I am a beginner but with a "normal" arduino MF works.
How do I send the log.txt in discord? (already registered)

Ther is a "+" button left of the writing area.
If you start e.g. a private talk to Sebastian ( DocMoebius) you can click on that button and choose a file from your computer to send !

Please enable the BETA System in the Mobiflight Settings. By click on "Check for Updates" in the HELP Tab you should offert to download the newest BETA.... 7.10.5.
THIS should fix hopefully the Problem with your Board!
