I have seen it made reference to but can not find any directions or guides on this-
How do I wire in 2 LCD's onto one mega? They both have I2C interfaces.
Thanks

Set i2c jumpers to different addresses, my is 26 for lcd1 and 25 for lcd2 . Then connect GND of lcd1 to lcd2 to mega, 5v of lcd1 to lcd2 to mega, scl of lcd1 to lcd2 to mega, sda of lcd1 to lcd2 to mega. Then setting your mega by adding new devices as LCD . Good luck.

Hi

thatchi tell you the most important awnser .... By change the Jumpers ( most LCD got Jumbers to setup a custom IC2 Adress) you can set the second Display to the same Mega ( IC2 Channel)

BUT the guide is a bit confusing.... It´s possible to wire everything in a "row" ( and logical if both Displays are nearby) BUT this is not a requirement ! Paralell is posible too.

Each Display need a 5V and a GRD .... Its no mater if you make a row and wire from Display A to B .... You can also wire both Displays direct to the Mega.
Same for Data Lines.... Both SDA lines must end in Pin 20 ( And SCL in 21) at the Mega you create the Device.
Its no Mater if you use 1 wire from Pin 20 to Display 1 and then a wire from Display 1 to Display 2 ...... You can also use 2 Wires that are combined set to Pin 20... One to Display 1 and the other to Display 2.

In easy words.... A LCD is not like a MAX that have a DOUT and the next Chip must be set behind..... LCD´s are indipended und just must be set all to the same Pins on the Mega.
Good Luck !

Ok I think I have it- on the ic2 chip solder the three pads according to google to change the address. Then wire up the 2 lcd’s is parallel and wire them to the mega as you would wire in one lcd. Then simply set up each in the settings but just be sure to enter in 0xzz (with zz being the address I changed the chip to by soldering) after that it’s the same.

How many lcd’s can I wire up to each mega like that? The table online shows 8 address variants depending on how I solder the jumpers.

Also sorry for asking this if it’s already been asked and answered. For some reason whenever I search I get zero results for anything.

Here i´m not sure.... As i know the Limit is "2" at the moment.... So 2 Diplays per Mega.... But sure Hundrets of Displays if you use a lot of Megas !

I personaly think here conservativ again....
If you still plan for 2 Megas in that Element then set each Display to a single Mega.... Why handle 2 Diplays via the same Port if on other side the next Mega will have No Display ?
Good Luck !
