Hello.
For now I only have one Arduino board with which I am testing with MobiFlight.
Is it possible to set up more CONFIG with names different from the first name?
I made several attempts, but in the Wizard it only offers the first Config and does not allow you to choose.
The aim is to complete the tests and after checking that everything works, buy other cards and insert the already tested CONFIG.
Thanks Giancarlo

Hi Giancarlo,

go from the MobiFlight main screen via the menu -> SETTINGS -> MobiFlight Modules.
Here you see the connected MF-modules.
To add a new one connect it to USB and you will see it in this list as Arduino board. Now you can upload the firmware and you have a 2nd, 3rd, 4st... module.
After loading the firmware you have to restart MF and to reset the new module.
Go again via SETTINGS -> MobiFlight Modules and klick the unnamed module.
On the right side you will see the field NAME. Here you can insert a new name for your modul. Upload the new name to this modul.

If you now got to MF main screen you can add your configs for the new, 2nd,3rd ... module.
Press the "..." field on the right side and open the config wizard. Klick the Display tab and there you can choose the module the config is.

If you want to keep test-config you should begin the multi modul phase with a new config and empty config lines. You can connect the number of new modules you want.

That's all.
Grüße,
Stephan (Time: UTC+2)

Your Request is a bit confusing....
What do you mean with "Config" ??

Do you mean the whole Project File in Mobflight you create Input and Outputs and you save it as xxxx.mcc ?
OR
Do you mean a Single Line in that File ( Whatever Input ot Output)
OR
Do you mean a Device you create on a Mega ?
OR
Do you mean the Mega Board ??

Where is a "first config" offert in Mobilflight ?? and what do you like to choose here ?

If Possible make a example..... Then we better undertand !

And to make a basic announcment.... I recommend to NOT use testing stuff in a real Project. Testing is to LEARN how it workes.... But its hight recommend do create the configs once again in a perfect form in your final Project file you like to use in your Cockpit !
Good Luck !

Hi Stephan and Pizman82.
I repeat "I have only one Arduino", after I have successfully finished the tests, I will buy more Arduino.

I currently have the first Config files: "AP Config.mcc" and "AP Setting.mfmc".
I ask if it is possible to create the second Config files: "G1000 Config.mcc" and "G1000 Setting.mfmc", etc.
So I ask if I can choose to use the first Config files "AP ..." or the second Config files "G1000 ..." on one Arduino.

I can't attach a photo for clarity.
Thank you
Giancarlo

U can have multiple mcc files , it like software u load to run . But you can only have one mfmc per mega , it like firmware u burn to mega and it will stay with that mega even if u turn off power . Of course u can burn another mfmc , but the 1st mfmc will be erased .

Do you mean you like do basic testings.....
So you use your Mega with current Setup ( For example 10 Buttons 10 LED ) for multiple Testing situations ???

So for example in Config 1 Button A controll the AP Altitude and in Config 2 the same Button maby controll a Garmin function (Without change hardware or device setting) ??

Thats no problem.

*********
OR Do you mean you like to build already your final system but only with ONE Mega at the moment..... So you Build your AP ( With all Devices and so on) and THEN you like to "save" this for backup and you remove all wires from Mega.... Delete it and startup again with the G1000 Element and new devices.

This is possible ( Whatever a lot of unneeded work ..... much more easy if you wait until you got your 2nd Mega)

In That Case.... SAVE your final Autopilot Devices to a MFMC File..... then Delete Board and finaly also Save your Final G1000 setting to a other MFMC File.
If you got new Megas you can Copy and upload the Backup Files as you need it !

BUT NOTE: It is not possible to combine 2 mcc files directly.... Only by editing the files with a editor and some scripting maby.
So you can not create a *.mcc File for AP and a other *.mcc file for G1000 and combine them to ONE File you like to use in the future.

So it´s recommend ( if you still like to build your final mc file today without Megas) to use ONE File for all Configs.
Simply Disable after creating all AP stuff the existing Configs.... Then create behind all G1000 Configs.
Its just important to get sure 2 Configs NOT get controll over the same device at same time.

Hopefully now all is clear.... If not please again explane detailed WHAT you need.
Good Luck !

Hi thatchi and pizman82

Unfortunately the translator does not give me the certainty of understanding 100% what you say.
I think I understand that, according to my needs, I can create multiple files.MCC but only one fileSetting.MFMC . Patience, better than nothing.

I currently have only one Arduino Mega, but my final system wants four Arduino Mega:
1) "AP" which controls 47 pins.
2) "G1000" which controls 48 pins.
3) "Button" which controls 51 pins.
4) "FMS" which controls 51 pins.
(Plus a fifth Leo Bodnar card for the eight Potentiometers).

Before buying three more Arduino Mega, I would like to test the functioning of ALL 197 commands.

I would have liked if at the end of the 197 tests, I had found four file.MCC and four file.MFMC , to be loaded on the four Arduino, instead of having to rewrite all the 197 data.

Finally, a detail, you often use the word "maby" but the translator does not know it. Could you tell me a synonym please?

Thanks. Giancarlo.

"maby" = perhaps DEUTSCH : vielleicht ITALIA : forse

About Question :

You can Build 4 MFMC Files.... thats possible BUT as i say in last posting this is much more work as build them directly. For your testing you must also wire your devices..... And after finishing one part you must rewire all stuff and wire the next devices again.
But in theory.... YES. You can finish that MEGA Settings completly and SAVE it to 4x file.mfmc .... Then you can copy it to the new Megas.

A MCC File is NOT located to one Board. It is used for the WHOLE Project.
So if you plan 4 Megas then you have ONE file.mcc that include all Configs from all 4 Boards. ( Also when you use 99 Mega Boards.... you will just have one mcc file)
In theory you can now make 4 Files if youi like.... But as i said above.... You can NOT combine the files by a simle click. Here same argument. This can be done much more easy and faster if you still got your megas

AT LAST: I also said above.... For TESTING you not need the 1:1 Hardware !
I do all Testings for the Last 4 Years here in Forum with the same Board.... And that use only 2 Button.s
For testing INPUTS simply create a Config.... Use a Single Button. Then test. IF your settings are good create next config and DISABLE the first. Use the SAME Button again in the second config..... Make your settings for the 2nd. Function and test.
Same for LED, With only 1 Real LED you can test endless Outputs!

Summary: I recommend to test "dirty" and finaly build a clean config when your boards arrive.
But it is simply unpracticable to build now a final Config by using just 1 Board !
Good Luck !

Hi Pizman82
I hoped there was a "shortcut" ...
If you, with your knowledge and experience, advise me to follow one path instead of another, you are certainly right, and therefore I will do as you say.

If I had managed to insert a photo into the text or to attach it, I would have avoided many misunderstandings. Can you tell me how to do it?

Thanks again...
Giancarlo

Badly not directily possible with the free Board Software Sebastian use.

To show pictures you must UPLOAD the picture on a Webspace..... And You use that Link in Mobiflight.
This can be a puplic Webspace like a filehoster..... Or your Private one if you got for example a own Homepage.

For example you load it to "http://www.blabla.com/picture123.jpg" then you copy this Link.... klick here in forum on "insert picture" and paste that link between the "img" codelines.

Much more easy is Discord.... I also was not a friend of those social plattforms.... But i change my opinion and use it now every day. The most easy way to share picture, videos and to talk for free via VOIP over countrys. https://discord.gg/99vHbK7 Thats the Mobiflight Server !
Good Luck !
