I have start a Throttle project for the NGXu with Stepper motors.
I have done a test rigg with only the Levers , no need to do the complete one before the Levers move as it should.
iam new to Mobiflight , have some quests
the fsuipc offset for NGXu, 6C6E AFS_AutothrottleServosConnected would it be possible to have this as output with lua script with a the free offsets as output?
or any other.
today i use AT arm led , work but not perfect.

would also bi nice to have more support for Bipolar drivers , set step dir pin need only 2 pins from the aurdino , it work today with the workaround from zoza.
would like to have a option for set the max pulse speed , for tuning the steppers

here a small video on the difference drivers do , i only do a test in mobiflight firs lever have a very good driver the second have a drv8825 or like the 4900 or easy drive that not work good for TH
i run the nema 23 stepper with 20v input voltage, x16 micriostepping the steppers need 2kg to loose stepps is a good base , have even test motors that need 6kg.

Hi

Sorry but i not completly understand.....

At first... I´m not sure if you will get happy with the stepper here..... The big problem of throttle is the Combination of INPUT and OUTPUT. Pretty sure you like to move your throttle also by hand.... Ho do you plan do handle this ??? if you move the Motor by hand then it´s "out of sync" .
As i know all other users work with SERVO Motor for throttle only!

About your Offset question..... Here i not undertand.

As i see thi new Offset for NGX"u" is the perfect solution..... it shows 1/0 whatever the Servo Motor should controll the Throttle or not.
Why do you need Custom Offset or Lua Scripts here ?
You can simply use THIS Offset as a LED Output..... Then you have a Pin Output that is 5V or GRD whatever Servo should be ON or OFF ( Relais pretty sure)

May i missunderstand..... Then please explane more detailed what you are looking for,
Good Luck !

Thanks for your answer ,
The offset i tried to do that no sucsess , sure iam doing something wrong , use the AT led now.
Moving the handels no problem . use one pin from Mobifligt to give the driver a signal.
Did my first 737 TH with big servos and slipclutch 5-6 years ago Prosim , this Stepper solution works really well " night and day" to the servo with clutch.
my Eng is bad , hope you understand me.
did a video when testing the handels in the NGXu , here you see a disable the TH and move by hand the engage tha AT .

Wow.... That is verry impressiv.

Can you show us maby a self written diagramm or a video that show us the "internal" mechnic ???

Until now it was shure it is not possible to move a stepper by hand.... Pretty sure you not "unpower" it in case it will then loose the zero Point.....
But i also not understand "how" you solve this big problem finaly.

Whatever.... This smoothe running..... The Function..... Wonderfull !!!!

About the Offset:
I not own 737"u" and P3D .... so i can not test it. Maby you can find out how it work finaly.

As i read the FSUIPC notes from this Offset i hopefully think this is the solution for the "HOLD" Problem...... So when we try to move the Throttle while AT is ON ..... For example to swap back Power to IDLE in case of a rejected Takeoff.

Just a Idea.... Maby this offset is not "1" if Servo have controll...... Maby it i just "1" aslong servo active moving the throttle.
If you like you can test this...... Observe the Offset, aktivate AT and then turn the Speed Bug on MCP.....
If my idea is correct then the Offset should swap to 1 aslong the Throttle is moved and back to 0 if it reach the new position.
Good Luck !

sorry for the late replay
shall do a better video , its hard for me to explain. bad eng.
its a kompromise a kind of close loop , not a perfect one but i not loose the sync.
have tested a bunch of stepper drivers not all of them work correct for this application.

in short i use a mega with a modded UNO CNC sheild with 2 drivers
today i fixed the automated stepper calibration for the thrustlevers in Mobiflight its a most very nice feature thanks Sebastian.

Request some new features for Steppers.
1. option to set unipolat or bipolar stepper
2. in bipolar , setting the max speed ( pulse )
3. set dir and step pins

the bipolar drivers ar superior to the unipolar type you can do much more tuning.
the speed is way to low now .

if you decide to do this i can test a realease candidate or beta
