Stephan explained to me in a previous topic how to change the name of a new mega card inserted in mobiflight.
unfortunately I did a lot of tests and I can't do it.
all my 3 cards have the same name and I'm afraid of getting confused!
I plan to use 15 or more cards and am worried.

About Problem.
At First:

That sounds not possible.... Maby all are called "Mobiflight Mega" BUT all must have a individual SerialNumber i think.... For example "SN-3FE-045" Right ?
So whatever you have 3 Boards.... They have a individual number already i think.
About Request:
We must find out if there is a technical issue or if you make a wrong setting youreself.
I just check this on my Mega here in the testing ground. By the way i did this first time. Till now i not change the names already.
Result: No Problems.... All work fine if you use the "basic workflow" we recommend for all stuff.....
The magic Keyword is RESET.
In case lots of data is saved at the Arduino and is mostly read only one time at startup ( sync) a restart of Arduino AND/OR Mobiflight Software is technical needed in lots of situations !
My workaround from today....
1. Connect the Mega you like to rename. And then start Mobiflight.
2. Get Sure the Firmware is Up to Date. ( As Stephan Said the Firmwar must be flashed already before you can use the Rename Function )
(IF you just flash the firmware then RESTART the Board.... Basic Rule : If you WRITE something on the Mega do a complete Restart !)
3. Choose your new Name ( Basic setting is Mobiflight Mega ... I Use "Alpha" for testing.
4. Klick the UPLOAD Button ! A "OK" is not enough. The name is written to Arduino... So you must use the UPLOAD Function and wait untill success report.
NOW The Name is changed in the Code... But Sure. Its NOT shown in the Mobiflight Software cause it reads the "name" on startup and can´t see a change meanwhile.
5. Make a Restart. As Explaned.... there is new Data on mega so restart the MEGA .... Also there is new information that must read initial by Mobiflight so also restart MF Software.
6. After Restart the Board NOW is detect as "Alpha" in my case. But Sure.... A Current load Config ( or a config that was build with the "old" not renamed board) now will not longer work.... Cause the Config is looking for the Mega Board called "Mobiflight Mega" that not longer exist!
7. To finaly solve this you must "Connect orphan Modules" . While Startup with a Config like this (or after load it) Mobiflight says... " Hey... The Config search for Board "Mobifligh Mega SN-xxx-xxx" but thats not here.... Will you use the Board "Alpha" for this. ?
If you assign this Boards together and click assign and then OK then the Board now is used.
NOTE: This assing is only temporary now. This new assingment must finaly SAVED in the mcc file itself. If you Quit Mobiflight this is not saved automaticly cause you not to a manual change in the Config..... So use the SAVE function one time.
Summary.... Now all should work.
Please try to reproduce this. If you have again problems (whatever you do this 1:1 like myself) then report the exact spot. We will check it !
