Hello everyone, I am developing the flaps position indicator, but I do not know how I can retro light it so it is visible at night, I would appreciate guidance, thank you

Hi Juan,

look at this item and watch the video:

https://hispapanels.com/tienda/es/frontal-b737/280-b737-indicador-de-flaps.html?search_query=flaps&results=6

I think this will solve your problem.

Hi

Basicly we work in homecockpits with 2 systems.

A ligth tha shine ON the Gauge .... In that case the Gauge is simply black/grey and the symbols-words etc that are labled on the gauge are white/Yellow etc.
Here your LED simply light the whole area and you see it.

Much more used is a backlight system ( Fo example on every Airliner like Boeing, Airbus or also on little aircrafts like Cessna.

Here all Panels gauges etc are build with vissible "milky" Acrylglass. The upper side is painted in a uni color (Mostly Black) and finaly you have a drilling, laser or engraved machine to remove the paint on the areas you like to show something.

Stephans link is show a gauge with this technic.... there they paint a acylglass black and engraved the numbers and lines on it ( That looking white here)
Finaly there is a LED ( or multiple led´s) BEHIND the gauge that are always on. From the front the gauge is black and dark.... But the engraved areas are shining bright white !
Good Luck !
